Mackinac is 15 years young. We adopted him from a small dog rescue group in 2011. He was having trouble getting adopted because he would get reactive when meeting new people. But he took to us right away and has been a wonderful companion over the years. He’s not interested in playing fetch or tug of war, but he can dismember any toy in an hour and get the squeaker out. His favorite food is peanut butter and anything we are eating, although he rarely gets table scraps. He has a heart condition and kidney disease but he’s being treated for both and doing well! He changed our lives completely and we are so glad we have given him a furever home.
