Raider was a rescue at 12 weeks old, and we had rescued his brother. The young college student who had rescued Raider found out early that she didn't want to dedicate the time to raise him. After she surrendered him to our daughter, we brought him home. He was smart and lovable, and I decided, as a Disabled Veteran, that after losing my service dog to old age, I wanted to train and certify Raider as my service animal. He was extremely smart and receptive, and he passed all the requirements to be my new service dog. He was attentive to my PTSD and had a very calm demeanor everywhere he went with me. He knows when I'm uncomfortable in crowded situations, has flown with me to other states, and people are impressed by his presence. He was with me when I had a condition that required me to be hospitalized three times for a medical procedure. He was my saving grace while in the hospital, and the staff commended him for his service to me in keeping me calm throughout my hospital stay.
