Petspiration Spotlight: Penny

Penny was rescued from a breeding farm at 4.5 years old, terrified of everything, and without a name or a future. She had lived her entire life in a 5x10 cage, never knowing a kind human touch or voice, never having a toy to play with, being bred over and over, never permitted to run on grass. She had her ears cropped with scissors and her tail docked without anesthetic. She was fed deer pellets (basically corn) all her life and was skin and bones when she was rescued. Now she is the sweetest little love bug and rules the roost with a plethora of toys, multiple daily cuddles, a warm, cozy bed to sleep on, and a safe, fenced backyard that accommodates her daily zoomies. She owns my heart, and I am so glad that we found each other. Her full name is Miss Lucky Penny, but I am the lucky one to have her in my life.
