Oyo is a Snowshoe, which is a breed of cat that is a cross between a Siamese and a domestic short hair. The breed was recognized in 1968. Oyo is a very loving, inquisitive, smart, and charismatic cat. He plays fetch, knows how to sit on command, and gives me high-fives. He is a snuggle bug when he wants to snuggle. He’s inquisitive, and sometimes that gets him into trouble. I find myself saying 'oh oh' instead of 'Oyo' because 'oh oh' is usually why I’m raising my voice at him, asking 'oh oh, what have you done?' or 'oh oh, what are you into?' The person who I adopted him from was moving overseas, so I won the lottery the day I got him. It happened to be my 71st birthday. She did not know that, but it was the best birthday present. I had put my 29-year-old Yellow Tabby, Scooby, down that year on St. Patrick's Day, but I knew I had more love to give even as a young 71. So in September, I was granted the privilege to be Oyo's mom. Love him I do, and he loves me! Unconditionally!
